Go Daddy: Not A Hack, Internal Issue

Was it a hack, or just an internal network issue? Scottsdale-based GoDaddy--after suffering a huge, widespread DNS outage Monday--said it completed an investigation of the outage, and said a series of internal network events corrupted its router data tables, resulting in the inability of Internet users to get to thousands and thousands (and perhaps millions) of web sites hosted or registered with the domain registrar. Godaddy said the outages started shortly after 10 a.m. PDT, and that service was fully restored by 4 p.m. PDT. Hackers associated with Anonymous had claimed credit for the downtime Monday. GoDaddy denied that, saying it was "not a hack" and "not a denial of service attack", but still apologizing to customers saying that it "let our customers down".
