Fusion-io Doubles Capacity Of SSD Products

Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io, the heavily backed solid state storage startup, said today that it has rolled out a new product which allows the firm to double the capacity of its family of products. The firm said it has rolled out a new, flash-based memory product module, which allows it to achieve up to 1.28 terabytes of capacity in a single, PCI Express card. The firm said the new module is based on 3X-nanometer MLC NAND Flash. Separately, the firm said its Fusion ioDrive brand will be available in Dell's PowerEdge R710, R810 and M610x server products. Terms of the deal with Dell were not disclosed.
