Footnote.com Opens Access To Civil War Collection

Lindon, Utah-based Footnote.com, which operates an online service which gives the public access to historical records, said today that it is opening up access to its U.S. Civil War Collection for free to the public through the month of June. The firm said its collection features over 30 million documents, which it accumulated with the help of the U.S. National Archives over the past three years. Footnote.com said the records include soldier service records, pension files, emancipation documents and slave documents, the Lincoln assassination investigation and trial papers, as well as photos and maps.
