Flock, Photobucket Execs Launch SafetyWeb

A slate of experience Internet executives--including Photobucket's Michael Clark and Flock founder Geoffrey Arone--said today they have launched Internet safety subscription service SafetyWeb. The Denver-based firm said it will help parents monitor what their children are doing online, and provide tools to parents to deal with cyberbullying. SafetyWeb said it will scour the web for risky activity by children, and make parents aware of videos and photos kids are sharing, cyber-bullying, and signs of Internet addition. Clark was one of the first employees at Photobucket, and helped architect the photo sharing service; Arone was last at DanceJam working with MC Hammer, and was a founder of social web browser Flock. The firm also said it is being advised by Hemanshu Nigam, former head of online safety at News Corporation/MySpace.
