Filmmakers Uncover Trove Of Atari Cartridges In New Mexico

Residents of New Mexico are used to researchers unearthing details of long ago cultures--with the state having been the center of culture for thousands of years. However, a decidedly more modern excavation took place over the weekend--when filmmakers and excavators uncovered what is being called the largest trove of Atari 2600 cartrdiges in existence at the modern midden pile of the Alamogordo landfill, which had been buried by the game maker after the flop of the game "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". The trove was uncovered by filmmakers working on "Atari: Game Over", a documentary being funded by Microsoft's Xbox One gaming platform.
