Eltron Research & Development In $8M Clean Energy Deal

Boulder-based Eltron Research & Development and Eastman Chemical Company said Wednesday that they are in a joint development deal to scale up and pilot test Eltron's advanced membrane system for hydrogen separation and carbon dioxide (CO2) capture. According to the two, the $8M deal is being sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. The project is targeted at testing Eltron's metallic membrane system for extracting hydrogen from mixed gas stream. Eltron's technology also apparently captures CO2, and was developed with funding from the US Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and their National Energy Technology Laboratory.
