EPIC Ventures Joins In JanRain Investment

Salt Lake City-based venture capital investor EPIC Ventures has joined in a big funding round for user registration and login software developer Janrain. Janrain said today that it has raised $33M in a funding round, which came from Millennium Technology Value Partners, Split Rock Partners, Epic Ventures, and salesforce.com, and also included existing investors Emergence Capital, RPM Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Anthem Venture Partners. Janrain started life as a developer of OpenID single sign-on software, much like Denver's Ping Identiy; Janrain says it is now focused on user registration handling for companies, to capture and store social profiles for websites.
