Circut Ties Crafts To iPad

Most of the folks in high tech are probably not familiar with Cricut, which develops hardware used by crafters for paper cutting. However, the South Jordan, Utah company has long relied on a lot of technology for its products--including both its computer-aided hardware for cutting paper, cardboard, and other materials, which is paired with computer design software that allows users to create all kinds of fancy cut paper crafts. In a move to adopt the latest technology for its already cutting edge products, the company said it has unveiled a new, wireless Bluetooth adapter which connects its hardware to the Apple iPad, and also launched a new app which lets users create their own DIY products from the tablet. Cricut said the new Bluetooth adapter costs $49, and will be made available both online as well as through retailers like Jo-Ann stores. The new app is free.
