Chinese Spying Ring Siphoned Data From Colorado's Avago

The U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday it has indicted six individuals in an alleged Chinese spying ring, which siphoned off technology from Avago Technologies' operations in Colorado, along with additional related technology from Skyworks Solutions. The DOJ alleges that the six individuals charged were working to obtain U.S. trade secrets for the benefit of universities and companies controlled by the People's Republic of China, and that one of the key individuals in the indictment, Dr. Wei Pang, was hired by Avago in 2006 to work in Colorado. The DOJ said that Pang and his other co-conspirators recipes, source code, specifications, presentations, design layouts and other documents marked as confidential and proprietary from Avago and Skyworks, and created a new PRC-backed firm called ROFS Microsystem to manufactured products based on the stolen IP.
