Broadweave Gains Nuvont Customers In Provo

Provo, Utah-based Broadweave Networks, which operates a fiber-based data communications service, said today it has reached an agreement to acquire the Provo customers of Nuvont Communications. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Broadweave said the acquisition will increase its customer base by more than 10 percent. Broadweave acquired the network of municipal fiber-to-the-home provider iProvo last year, which operated a network reaching 36,000 homes, businesses, and government buildings in the city. Nuvont was a provider of digital TV, voice, and data which used the iProvo network. The sale came after an initial deal to sell Nuvont's customers to Broadweave in August fell through due to disagreements between the two firms. The companies did not detail what motivated the revived sale.
