Avnet Adds Agilent CEO Sullivan to Board

Phoenix-based electronic components distributor Avnet Inc. reported Wednesday that it has appointed William P. Sullivan to its board of directors. He replaces James A. Lawrence, chief financial officer of Unilever PLC, who resigned from Avnet’s board after accepting a position based in Europe. Avnet said Sullivan has served as president and chief executive officer of Agilent Technologies Inc. since March 2005. Before that, he spent three years as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the bio-analytical and electronic measurement device manufacturer. Sullivan, Avnet noted, currently serves on two other boards—URS Corp. and the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, Calif.
