Amkor Teams With IBM, Chartered, Samsung On Silicon Packacing

Chandler, Arizona-based Amkor Technology said today that the firm is collaborating with IBM, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung Electronics Co. on 90-nanometer and 65-nanometer flip-chip packaging for the semiconductor industry. The firm said that it is working on common platform technology with the other firms, an effort to help customers leverage cross-foundry manufacturing. Amkor is a provider of semiconductor assembly and test services.
