ZEAL Optics, a Boulder-based eyewear firm, said today that it has launched a new goggles for snowboarders and skiers, which includes a new, built-in 1080p HD camera. The firm said its new ZEAL iON HD camera goggle features 1080p HD video, 8 megapixel photos, and ability to take pictures without having to take off gloves. The new device costs $399. ZEAL looks to be looking to take some market share from GoPro, Contour, and Drift in the point-of-view camera market, with a more specialized product aimed at snow sports. ZEAL is better known for its sunglasses and goggles.
