Boulder, Colorado-based Webroot has partnered with anti-virus provider Sophos, saying Wednesday that it will license Sophos anti-virus technology for use in its consumer and enterprise products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Webroot said it will integrate Sophos's anti-virus research and technology into its Spy Sweeper anti-spyware product, in order to provide protection against both spyware and viruses. The new products will be available later in the year. Webroot is backed by Technology Crossover Ventures, Accel Partners and Mayfield.
