Hosted security software publisher Webroot revealed Monday that it has launched a new security application targeting enterprises and small businesses that will defend against viruses, spyware and other malware attacks while also ensuring appropriate employee Internet usage. The Boulder, Colo.-based company said the product, Web Security SaaS, will be distributed as a hosted software-as-a-service offering. Webroot also reported that it has unveiled an enhanced version of its E-Mail Security SaaS utility, which provides advanced content filtering, data leakage prevention and compliance monitoring. Web Security SaaS will protect on-site and mobile employees, Webroot explained, by routing all Internet traffic through its global data centers. Web Security SaaS and the updated E-Mail Security SaaS are currently available for purchase in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Asia Pacific region.
