USTAR, the Utah Science Technology and Research initiative, an effort to spur high technology jobs in the state, said today that it has launched a new, Renewable Energy Incubator in St. George. According to USTAR, it officially opened the doors to the Southern Utah Information Technology and Renewable Energy Incubator (ITRE) on Tuesday, to help in the start-up of new businesses focused on green technology and alternative energy. USTAR said the first tenant of the incubator is Truescale Technologies, a firm working on the area of cloud computing. The new incubator is a joint effort of USTAR, the Dixie Business Alliance, the Small Business Development Center, SEED Dixie, Washington County Economic Development, Dixie State College, and Dixie Applied Technology College.
