US Digital Television Rolls Out MPEG-4 AVC Network

Salt Lake City, Utah-based US Digital Television has announced that it has moved its entire network to MPEG-4 AVC, the latest digital compression standard. USDTV provides broadcast television via digital "over the air" broadcasts, as an alternative to cable. The firm is backed by Fox Television Stations, Inc., Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc., LIN TV Corp., McGraw Hill Broadcasting, Morgan Murphy Stations, and Telcom DTV, and offers services in Dallas/Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.
