Techstars, Twitter In Data API Partnership
Boulder-based startup accelerator operator Techstars and messaging company Twitter have inked a new deal, which will give startups going through Techstars with access to Twitter's social data APIs, the two said today. According to Twitter and Techstars, Twitter will also provide consulting services to help Techstars' founders with using social intelligence to the produucts and services they are creating. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. The access to Twitter's data and APIs comes on opt of the financing, mentoring, and other resources offered up to Techstars' startup companies. Techstars already had a close relationship with Twitter, thanks to a long history with Boulder-based social data service Gnip, which was acquired by Twitter back in August of 2014; Gnip now powers all of Twitter's data APIs. Jud Valeski, the co-founder of Gnip who is now at Twitter, has been a longtime Techstars mentor.
