Boulder-based TechStars is not only buildling out a startup accelerator empire--it's also become the owner of a giant portfolio of domain names, after it acquired NameLayer, a domain name startup founded by Julian Shapiro and Edward Zeiden. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. The acquisition was announced Monday. Shapiro and Zeiden are not joining TechStars with the acquisition, but will help mentor TechStars companies. TechStars said it has acquired the entire portfolio of NameLayer, whose domain names were specifically curated for the tech market.
