Tandberg Ups RDX Capacity, Adds CDP Support
Boulder, Colorado-based Tandberg Data, a developer of data storage products, said Monday that the firm has rolled out higher capacity, 500GB RDX cartridges for the firm's QuikStor products, along with adding continuous data protection support to the product line. According to Tandberg, the new continuous data protection support wil lbe shipped with all new RDX QuikStor units. Tandberg's QuikStor product is a disk-based, removable storage product aimed at the SMB market. Continuous data protection (CDP) is used to log all incremental changes to a data storage volume, and is used to ensure taht any file or intervening version can be recovered after a loss. RDX is a disk-based archival format aimed at replacing tape, and is licensed by Tandberg from ProStor Systems.
