Sun Microsystems has integrated StorageTek's TekCare support program into its general support portfolio, the firm said this week, and has migrated its customers into its SunSpectrum service plans, marking another milestone in the firm's absorption of Colorado-based StorageTek. Sun said that its new Sun StorageTek Service Plans will be a component of its SunSpectrum Support portfolio, which also include support for Sun systems and software like the Solaris operating system. According to Sun, the new service plans add additional features like interoperability support, access to Sun's training resources, and remote diagnostics. Sun also said that customers will continue to have access to the StorageTek knowledgebase, documentation, and other resources. Sun completed its $4.1B acquisition of StorageTek in September of 2005.
