Utah Man In X PRIZE Green Contest Finals

The high visibility X PRIZE Foundation, the group behind the first commercial spacecraft to reach orbit, named three finalists for the firm's "What's Your Crazy Green Idea" contest, including Alan Silva of Roy, Utah. Silva's proposal for an "Energy Independence X PRIZE" is one of three video proposals, out of 133 submissions, for the X PRIZE Foundation's next Energy and the Environment X PRIZE. According to the X PRIZE Foundation, it will award $25,000 to the winner of the contest -- driven by votes from viewers of the videos. The winner's idea will be used to help shape the firm's energy and environment prize efforts.
