    Sorrento Networks Ships New Optical Networking Product

    Denver-based Sorrento Networks said today that it has shipped a new, 40 Gbps product for the optical networking marketing. The firm said its new GigaMux 6440 is targeted at the WDM market, and will be made available through and OEM partner, StrataLight Communications. The firm's new product is targeted at connecting metro-are WDM networks. Sorrento Networks develops optical networking products for telecommunications carriers and enterprises; the firm spun out last year with the optical networking product assets from Zhone Technologies.
