Spectra Logic Taps Falconstor For VTL Boulder-based disk storage and tape drive firm Spectra Logic said Tuesday that it will incorporate Falconstor Software's virtual tape library and deduplication software on the firm's storage appliances. Spectra Logic said it would use Falconstor's software--which is used for emulating disk drives and for reducing data size for backups--on its nTier Intelligent Secondary Storage appliances. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. FalconStor is a provider of storage management software; SpectraLogic develops both disk based backup and tape libraries. The new software will be available on Spectra's nTier platform this week, with pricing of entry level systems beginning at $12,500. posted on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
