Health Language to Enter South African Market

Health Language Inc., a provider of medical terminology software based in Aurora, Colorado, has partnered with SP Smart-ICT, a South African information and communications technology provider, HLI announced Monday. The alliance will grant HLI its first foothold in Africa. HLI’s Language Engine software is a tool for health care organizations, IT vendors and government agencies to localize, update and disseminate more than 70 licensed medical terminology databases and related content. Language Engine maps these sources and creates a pool of standardized and codified medical concepts. SP Smart-ICT, a business unit of SP-Smart Holdings, is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa.
