StillSecure Rolls Out Freeware IDS For VMware

Superior, Colorado-based StillSecure has rolled out a version of the company's freeware IDS/IPS security product for the VMware market, saying yesterday that its enterprise network security software will be available as a pre-built component for VMware's popular VMware Player product. StillSecure said that its product has been configured as a pre-installed and pre-configured VMware virtual appliance. VMware's virtualization products allow full images of operating systems to run on a single hardware instance, and its VMware Player product allows users to download fully configured operating system images to run on standard Windows machines. StillSecure's product is also available as a software appliance, downloadable from StillSecure's web site.
