SpotXchange Becomes SpotX

Denver-based programmatic video ad exchange operator SpotXchange has renamed itself SpotX, the company said Wednesday, as part of a move to reflect its wider range of offerings. According to SpotX, the name change comes since it now offers up an ad marketplace, ad server, SSP (supply-side platform), and full stack inventory management, rather than just an ad exchange. SpotX, which is led by Mike Shehan, said the change comes as publishers have shifted to using a one-stop shop for managing their video ads, including progammatic ads (those sourced through ad exchanges) and directly sold (in-house) ads, across multiple devices and formats.
