SpotRight Merges With Spot Influence, Snags $1M Funding

Boulder-based SpotRight, a developer of an online service which helps marketers analyze and understand their customers on social networks, said today that it has merged with Spot Influence, and raised $1M in a funding round. Financial details of the merger were not announced. The funding came from Grotech Ventures, Access Venture Partners, and FFP Holdings. SpotRight, which is headed by Ed Messman, a technology vet who previously was at Highlive, said the firms' combined product will help marketers use social data to improve customer acquisition, conversion, and loyalty. Dave Angulo, CEO of Spot Influence, becomes CTO of SpotRight. Messman was VP of Corporate Development and Operations at Hivelive, before it was acquired by Rightnow Technologies.
