Sorenson Media, the developer of video encoding and decoding software and technology, said today that it has licensed its Sorenson Spark Software Developers Kit (SDK) to Sharp Corporation, for use in a chipset for mobile devices. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Sorenson Spark said its decoder will be integrated with a system-on-a-chip, semiconductor product from Shark, which will be used in mobile devices. Sorenson Media has major operations in Salt Lake City.
