Tempe, Arizona-based Solid State Networks, which operates a peer-to-peer network for content distribution, said Tuesday that it has delivered an upgraded product for delivering software patches to computer games. The firm said that its upgraded Solid Axis CURRENT enables game developers and publishers to integrate its technology via an application programming interface. The software allows developers to keep their software up to date through the Internet. According to the firm, major enhancements include new features and flexible accommodations for custom code. Separately, Solid State Networks said that it is in a partnership with Funcom on distributing Funcom's large video game files via the Internet. Financial terms of that deal were not announced.
