Salt Lake City-based Sera Prognostics, which is developing diagnostics tests to predict preterm birth and other pregnancy complications, announced Tuesday that it has raised $19.3M in a Series A financing round. The round was led by InterWest Partners, Domain Associates and Catalyst Health Ventures, and also included UpStart Life Sciences Capital, and Osage University Partners. As part of the funding, Doug Fisher of Interwest, Kim Kamdar of Domain Associates, and Joshua Phillips of Catalyst Health Ventures join the company's board. Gregory C. Critchfield--the former president of Myriad--also has been named CEO of the company.
