SCO Group Promotes Gupta to SCO Operations President
The SCO Group Inc., a developer of UNIX software technology and mobile services, announced Tuesday evening that it has promoted Sandy Gupta to the role of president of SCO Operations Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary formerly known as Caldera Systems Inc. Previously The SCO Group's chief technology officer and general manager, Gupta will continue to report to Darl McBride, the company's president and CEO. Gupta has been with The SCO Group since 1996. Prior to that, he worked in the United Kingdom for Fujitsu ICL and served as an intern scientist at the Indian Space and Research Organization, The SCO Group said. Based in Lindon, Utah, The SCO Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 17 and has since received two warnings from the Nasdaq Stock Market that stated the company's common stock is in danger of being de-listed.
