Region Ranks High In Entrepreneurship
A new study released today by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation found that Phoenix was among the cities with the highest rates of entrepreneurship, and that Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana were among the top 10 states with the highest entrepreneurial activity rates. The study--which attempts to measure business startup activity for the entire United States--found Phoenix was among the top areas in the nation ranked by highest entrepreneurial activity. Philadelphia posted the lowest. In terms of states, Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana joins the District of Columbia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, and California as top entrepreneurial states. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is a private foundation focused on studying entrepreneurship and innovation; the study was developed by Robert W. Fairlie, professor of economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
