In a quick reversal of the firm's announcement Wednesday that it would drop its California, North Carolina, Hawaii, and Rhode Island affiliates over efforts to tax Internet businesses, Salt Lake City-based Overstock.com said late Wednesday evening that it would reinstate California-based affiliate advertisers of the firm. The company said the reversal came as a result of a call from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's office, where the firm was told that Schwarzenegger would veto the affiliate tax bill in California.
