Boulder-based Orbotix, the robotic ball firm headed by Paul Berberian, is heading to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week, saying that it has just launched two new demo apps for the device. The firm said it has shipped Chromo and Sphero Space Fighter, two more games which combine a smartphone and the Sphero robotic ball. Chromo is a color matching game, and Space Fighter uses the Sphero as a controller for a space game. Orbotix just started shipping the Sphero with a limited number of units before Christmas. The firm has been making its application programming interfaces and SDKs available for third party development, with the intent of allowing people to create games and activities which interact directly with the robot. The Sphero is controlled by Android and iPhone smart phones.
