Omniture Inc., a provider of online business-optimization software, reported earlier this week that the National Hockey League has selected an Omniture application to analyze the league's marketing campaigns. Omniture said the NHL will use the company's flagship SiteCatalyst Web analytics tool to assess visitor interaction with NHL.com content. Omniture explained that SiteCatalyst will achieve this by monitoring RSS feeds, podcasts, video clips, wireless devices and emerging digital channels. NHL.com is the league's official Web site and serves as a technology platform for the 30 individual team sites. Omniture is headquartered in Orem, Utah.
