Salt Lake City-based Needle, which develops an e-commerce chat service which taps the power of fans and experts to answer customer questions for online retailers, has partnered with social Q&A service TurnTo, the two announced this morning. According to the two companies, the deal calls for answers from Needle experts to complement answers from TurnTo's Q&A site. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Both companies provide their services to e-commerce sites, to provide answers to common questions about different products. TurnTo's service is aimed at common questions and answers; Needle's service provides near real-time answers about products from its network of experts. Needle is venture backed by Shasta Ventures and Rembrandt Venture Partners.
