Mobiplug Gets $2.7M For Smart Home Tech

Boulder-based Mobiplug Networks, the TechStars Boulder startup developing smart home monitoring devices and technology, said today that it has raised $2.7M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Foundry Group, and also included Bullet Time Ventures, SK Ventures, Social Leverage, Clarion Direct Investment, and others. Mobiplug is developing an all-in-one, home monitoring and control product which is linked to smart phone apps on the Iphone and iPad. As part of the funding, the firm said it has tapped Tendril's Tim Enwall as its new CEO; Ryan McIntyre of Foundry Group also joins the company's board. Mobiplug sai dit is looking to connect the wide range of smart household items available from retailers through a single protocol, allowing locks, thermostats, lights, outlets and more to all work together.
