Backbone PLM Finds $8M
Boulder-based Backbone PLM, a developer of a cloud-based software platform for helping brands with product development, has raised $8M in a Series A funding, the company said this week. The funding was led by Signal Peak Ventures, and also included Grotech Ventures, Spider Capital, Novel TMT Ventures, Beanstalk Ventures, Brainchild Holdings and Peterson Ventures. According to Backbone PLM, its current customers include Allbirds, Outdoor Voices, Stitch Fix, and Warby Parker. The company says it already has more than 100 direct-to-consumer brands using its software. Backbone PLM's founders are two brothers, Matthew Klein and Andrew Klein. Matthew services as the company's CEO.
