Prescient Completes Project At University of Kansas
Arvada, Colorado-based Prescient Co., the developer of rapid construction technology, says it has completed a project at the University of Kansas--its largest, single-site project to date. According to Prescient, it began construction of the Central District Residence Hall and Apartments in July of 2016, and just completed the work ahead of the move in of new students last week. Prescient has developed a system which streamlines the design, manufacturing, and build of multi-unit buildings--such as dorms, hotels, retirement homes, and the like--and makes it possible to rapidly design those structures in software, then create pre-configured steel posts, panels, and trusses to build those structures. The company said the Kansas project featured four buildings, with a total of approximately 550,000 square feet and 1,238 beds.
