Sling Plans Launch On Comcast X1, Targets Multicultural Content
Englewood, Colorado-based Sling TV, which provides live and on-demand Internet television, has launched on Comcast's X1 set top box, the two said on Tuesday afternoon. The two said the deal will give Comcast X1's customers access to the Internet, particularly multicultural programs and channels. Sling and Comcast did not give a date yet when content from Sling will be available on Comcast's service. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Sling and Comcast said they specifically are targeting multicultural content--including content in Arabic, Chinese, and Urdu--for the link. Sling TV's multicultural packages start at $10 a month, according to the companies.
