Arrow Electronics Joins ARM Group
Centennial, Colorado-based electronics distributor Arrow Electronics has joined a group backing the ARM architecture, the company said on Monday. Arrow said it has become part of the ARM mbed partner ecosystem, a group made up of embedded and cloud technology companies, component manufacturers, system integrators and original equipment manufacturers focused on the Internet-of-Things area. ARM is a manufacturer and designer of microprocessor cores using the RISC processing architecture. Those ARM processors are heavily used in embedded applications and are an alternative to more traditional x86/CISC computing architecture found in PCs.
