DigitalGlobe Sees Shift In Satellite Launch To Late October, Early November
Westminster, Colorado-based DigitalGlobe, the provider of satellite imagery services, says it now expects its WorldView-4 satellite to launch sometime in late October or early November. The satellite launch had been delayed after a set of wildfires at Vandenberg Air Force base in California delayed its launch schedule. The company said that, due to efforts to restore and test infrastructure at Vandenberg Air Force Base, it is now working with the U.S. Air Force and United Launch Alliance on a new date for launch of its satellites on an Atlas V. DigitalGlobe's launch was delayed after a wildfire broke out in the tinder dry hills of Vandenberg Air Force Base, which--like much of California--has been in the throes of a five-year drought.
