Utah, New Mexico Vie For New Facebook Data Center
Social networking giant Facebook is looking to put a new data center in the region, a move which has pitted both Utah and New Mexico against each other to lure the data center. According to multiple reports, Facebook is looking at a new location in West Jordan, Utah, as well as a site in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Regulatory officials in New Mexico said today that Facebook has yet to decide on a location; Utah apparently has offered up $240M in a local tax break and rebates to attract Facebook and its "Project Discus" data center.
