Terumo BCT Finds $17.4M
Lakewood, Colorado-based medical device manufacturing company Terumo BCT announced today that it has raised $17.4M, in an initial funding, from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), which is part of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Terumo BCT said the funding will go towards a study of its technology for reducing pathogens in blood. Terumo BCT said the total value of its contract with BARDA could be worth as much as $169M over the next 10 years. Terumo BCT's technology is aimed at the blood safety market.
