Vivint Smart Home Gets $100M From Peter Thiel, Solamere
Provo, Utah-based Vivint Smart Home, the provider of smart home technology and services, has raised $100M more in funding, from Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel, along with Solamere Capital. According to Vivint, the strategic investment will go towards growth and product innovation. Thiel also was the first investor in Facebook, and a big shareholder in Airbnb. Vivint is led by Todd Pedersen. Solamere Capital is the investment firm run by Tagg Romney, Eric Scheuermann and Spencer Zwick, and former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
