Zayo Wins Dark Fiber Deal In Fort Worth
Boulder-based bandwidth provider Zayo Group reports today that it has signed a deal with the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to provide a dark fiber upgrade to that city's municipal network. The deal is worth $15.6M over 12 years. Zayo said Fort Worth is turning to Zayo instead of building its own fiber network. That network will initially connect six city locations in the first two years, and eventually connect to 50 of the city's facilities along a 411 mile network. Zayo says it plans to leverage an existing, fiber-to-the-tower route it has in Dallas as part of the build out.
