Trinity Capital Investment: $92M Invested In 2015
Chandler, Arizona-based venture debt and funding provider Trinity Capital Investment announced today that it invested $92M across 22 portfolio companies in 2015. The company said the total included both senior venture loans and equipment lease financing. Trinity Capital said $54M went to software, cloud computing and IT solutions; $16.6M in the consumer and retail industry; $7M in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry; $5M to an energy storag eprovider; $4.4M in clean technology; and $5M to the avionics industry. Venture debt and lending is typically used by companies to extend the amount of capital available to them without giving away equity in their companies. Trinity Capital competes against Hercules Growth Technology Capital, Vencore, Silicon Valey Bank, Orix, Square One Bank, and many others in the venture lending area.
