NexGen Storage Acquired By Pivot3
Louisville, Colorado-based NexGen Storage is being acquired, again, this time by hybrid infrastructure provider Pivot3. NexGen Storage, led by John Spiers, develops hybrid storage appliances, and most recently had been an independent company after a spinout last January from Sandisk. The storage developer--founded in Colorado in 2011--was originally venture backed, then was acquired by Fusion-io in 2013, became part of Sandisk when Sandisk acquired Fusion-io in 2014, and then was spun back out by Sandisk into an independent company in January of 2015. The company continues to be led by founders Spiers and Kelly Long, who are veterans of the storage industry, having previously founded Lefthand Networks.
