Foundry Backs Startup Helping You Track All Of Your Belongings
Boulder-based venture capital investor Foundry Group has made another investment, this time in a startup which helps consumers track all of their stuff. Foundry said it led an $8.7M investment in TrackR, a startup developing tags, stickers, sensors, and assocaited mobile apps which lets consumers track anything they own, all using a smartphone app. The startup--based in Santa Barbara, California--is using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensors to let users track whatever they want, by sticking or attaching those sensors to their belongings. Those sensors have replaceable batteries which last up to a year, according to Foundry Group.
